Reality is still settling in at San Diego City College after the Nov. 5 election.
Surprise and disappointment were the unifying emotions conveyed by students interviewed by City Times Media over the last week.
“It was pretty scary to see the whole map turning red,” film production major Fatima Benitez, 20, said.
Abortion and immigration were at the forefront of students’ minds, with some raising fears about abortion, deportation and denaturalization.
Many students were reluctant to share their perspectives with CTM. Out of 32 students approached, only 5 agreed to go from the record. This was a noticeable shift from when CTM spoke to students on election day when 7 out of 15 students approached agreed to speak to the media.
