French Toast Ö l’Orange

Ingredients:

4 eggs
1 tbsp sugar, optional
1 ´ cups milk
10-12 slices any bread
´ cup orange juice
A few pieces orange peel, torn
´ tsp vanilla
1 tsp nutmeg
´ tbsp cinnamon
Desired amount butter

Directions:
Whisk eggs until they are evenly colored and frothy – with a coat of air bubbles on top. Add milk and orange juice, whisk again. Mix sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon together. Add mixture and vanilla to egg combination. Whisk until a fair sized layer of air bubbles sits on top. Throw in the orange peel and beat again for about 30 seconds. Melt between one to two tablespoons of butter in frying pan or skillet. Put a slice of bread into egg blend, until thickly coated. Remove bread from eggs and put in frying pan. Cook until golden brown, and flip over. Add butter only if needed. Cook second side until golden brown. Remove from pan. Repeat until all bread is used.
Optional: Cook break for 15-20 seconds more for a crispier outer edge. Pour desired syrup on toast and/or sprinkle on powdered sugar.
