Associated Students Government election results have been delayed since voting was held April 22 and 23 after more than a month of campaigning.
According to Student Affairs Coordinator Lori Oldham, votes were collected on paper ballots on campus and online through San Diego City College’s website.
The results of the election were supposed to have been posted on www.sdcity.edu within a week after the polls closed.
Student Affairs was contacted by telephone April 30 for election results and their reply was that Oldham was out sick and was the only person who could provide the information.
May 5, Student Affairs was contacted in person. The information shared was that Oldham was still out sick and there was no date as to when she would return, nor was it known when the election results would be posted.
Associated Students Government senate candidate Claudia Robles and current President Adam Garcia were available for questions. They replied in the negative about the election results.
May 7, Bill Ponder, who is the manager of Student Affairs, responded to an emailed inquiry: “We should have that information for you by Monday at the latest.”
Sometime during May 8, in an online search for information, it was discovered the website for City College was not available. Although the site was running again by May 9, ASG election results still had not been posted.
As of the publication of this article, the results of the election were still unavailable.
