Seeds@City Hosts Cooking Demo with Alchemy

To celebrate Food Day, the farm-stand hosted by Seeds@City in Curran Plaza will feature a cooking demonstration using Seeds produce by South Park’s Alchemy Cultural Fare restaurant on Oct. 25.

The Seeds@City farm-stand will be open during its normal hours from 9-11:15 a.m.  The public is welcome in addition to City students and faculty.

Food Day is an annual event celebrated nationwide with emphasis on reducing hunger and providing affordable food by promoting organic, environmentally sustainable farming while supporting fair working conditions for workers.

The newly opened San Diego Public Market will also be hosting a Food Day event on Oct. 24 in Logan Heights with Network for a Healthy California. There will be nutritional education events and physical activities for all ages. Network aims to provide families of all incomes with healthy and affordable food.

Seeds@City will also be present at UCSD’s Sustainable Food Expo on Oct. 24 in La Jolla at the Price Center East Ballroom from 11-3 p.m.
