Associated Students Government holds drive to benefit the homeless

For the first week of November, City College’s Associated Students Government is holding a blanket, clothing and shoe drive called Embrace the Streets that will benefit the homeless.

Students, faculty and staff, as well as community members, are asked to make donations starting Nov. 1 in room D 106 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. ASG representative Isis-Mubutu Aguilar said this is the first year they team up with local non-profit organization Embrace to hold the drive.

Last year, Embrace collected more than 1,000 articles of clothing and reached 100 individuals, mostly veterans.

Donations will be collected until Nov. 5. For more information call Student Affairs at (619) 388-3498 or ASG at (619) 388-3353.
