A new Semester, a new musical

The Drama department of San Diego City College announced auditions for the new musical for this semester: “The All Night Strut.” The announcement was posted on City College’s website earlier this week.

Auditions will be held Saturday, Aug. 30 starting at noon until 2 p.m. in the Saville Theatre located on C Street at 14th.

Parking choices include the parking structures for the MS building, accessible from 16th Street, the V building accessible from 17th Street and metered parking spaces along C Street.

For those auditioning, there will be an accompanist, someone who will be playing music for actors and performers to sing and/or dance to during the audition process. Also present will be at least one member of the Drama department. An anonymous source stated that Creative Arts Director June Richards usually conducts the auditions.

According to the announcement on the website, “The All Night Strut” is described as a musical revue of the 1930s and ’40s.

The auditions are open to all who wish to attend.
