We’re a couple weeks in now and you most likely have your schedule nailed down, books bought, and possibly even some homework already. That all begs a question though – what do we do for fun?
Club Rush will manifest in the Gorton Quad next week from Tuesday to Thursday and run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many different groups will setup tables, hand out candy, and politely chew your ear off about how fun it is to be in their club.
To be clear, the Club Rush will be enjoyable, but it is more so a porthole to a semester-long social endeavor that can take many great forms. Among the participants will likely be the SDCC Film Society, the acting club, and language clubs such as French, Italian, Spanish and even Spanglish.
However, clubs take far more unique forms as well.
For instance, AllOut@City is LGBTQ oriented, Future Leaders provides peer support and educational opportunities for transfer students, and People for Social Sustainability “seeks to promote a holistically sustainable and integrated world through the power of cooperative action,” according to their website.
Come on out and socialize. You might be surprised to find out how diverse and interesting student clubs can be.
