The pressure of the post-election results means mental health is more important than ever, according to San Diego City College Mental Health Counselor and Peer Educator Program Coordinator Abby Weisman.

“Stress is a natural reaction to something that’s big occurring and having big feelings about (the election) is totally natural,” Weisman said in an election night interview with City Times Media’s Tresean Osgood.

City College offers a free resource to help: a subscription to Headspace for all students and faculty.

Headspace is an app that provides meditation and mindfulness resources. The initiative aims to enhance student and faculty mental well-being.

For students and faculty to take advantage of this opportunity, they must download the Headspace app and use their SDCCD student or work email.

The step-by-step sign-up process can be found here.
