Cinema and Asian culture collide with the return of the San Diego Asian Film Festival October 15-29.

The main feature of the two-week event is the screening of over 200 films from over 20 countries. In addition to the film screenings, most of which will take place at the UltraStar Mission Valley at Hazard Center. Live music performances, discussion panels, parties, an art and a comedy show will also be featured at the festival.

This 10th annual celebration of Asian Film is the most ambitious to date. What started out as a 3 day event on the University of San Diego campus has grown into a 2 week festival, drawing large crowds, to its various venues, with the goal of uniting them through film and colorful Pan-Asian cultural activity.

The event will showcase films coving a variety of genres, from animation to documentary from comedy to thriller. Included in the line-up is the North American premier of Tokashi Ozaki’s Afro Samurai: Resurrection, the directors cut, and Wilson Yip’s, IP man, a film based on the life of martial arts master and teacher to Bruce Lee, IP Man.
