Students with high phone bills have a new option.
T-Mobile and Wal-Mart have partnered to offer a $30 prepaid monthly service plan featuring unlimited texts and data.
The plan, which launched Oct. 16, features unlimited data, unlimited text messages and 100 minutes of talk time with 10 cents per minute after the first 100 minutes.
The plan allows a person to use T-Mobile’s 4G network, which uses HSPA+ technology not the faster LTE technology that Verizon uses, for the first 5 gigabytes of data. After first 5 gigabytes of data the user’s speed are lowered to 3G and Edge speeds.
This plan does not require a contract with T-Mobile.
The plan is sold exclusively in-store at more than 2,200 Wal-Mart stores and online at www.walmart.com and www.T-Mobile.com.
