Men’s Knights Volleyball vs. San Diego Mesa
Wednesday evening the 11th of March, the men’s volleyball team hosted San Diego Mesa College in the Pacific Coast Conference championships in a fast paced hard fought match.
Coach Curtis Jackson’s Knights came out playing hard, and with a combination of brilliant blocks and spikes we were narrowly beaten in their first game by a score of 26-30.
The second game City went down 17-30 and although we played hard, Mesa seemed to be in form and played as a more of a cohesive unit.
The communication between the Mesa players was excellent and during the second game, and they seemed to excel with calls made.
We seemed to lose our concentration and allow to many early points and were unable to overcome the deficit.
The power plays were impressive and the blocks put up by both teams was really good. The third game we would go down 17-30 as well, giving San Diego Mesa the minimum required 3 of 6 games to take the victory.
The remaining games of the season are all Pacific Coast Conference playoffs, with the next game against Orange Coast on Wednesday away.
