Fitness foundation hosts annual fundraiser

Gorgeous blue skies, crisp air, and high-60s temperatures were the conditions people encountered when they arrived at Mission Bay Park on the morning of Nov. 6 for the City College 4K Fun Run/Walk Fundraiser.

The run/walk benefited the San Diego City College Fitness Foundation and it was also meant to kick-off the annual San Diego “Dirt Dog” Cross Country Championships sponsored by the San Diego Track Club.

The turnout was extremely small, as only five runners total took the field to run.

Two of City College’s best cross country runners, Jon Laughter and Adam Richardson, showed up to escort the registered Fun runners through their two laps on the 2K loop throughout the park.

“I came to support the event as well as get some exercise,” psychology professor Kristen Cole said. “I feel very good.”

To make donations towards the cause, make checks payable to SDCC Foundation and mail it to Paul Greer at 1313 Park Blvd. For questions call (619) 388-3704.
