City College recruiting students for Federal Work Study program

Part-time employment for students with financial need available on campus

City College is now recruiting students for Federal Work Study. There is no deadline to apply for a FWS job on campus, according to officials in the college’s financial aid office.

The program was promoted in an email blast to faculty to share with students and offers students part-time work opportunities in several different departments on campus, including those that are related to a student’s area of study.

FWS funding provides jobs for students with financial need, according to the City College website. Campuses are given a limited amount of funding to award eligible students.

To be eligible for FWS, students must be enrolled in at least 6 units, have an unmet need of at least $8,000 and meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards in good standing.

Finally, students must not have any reason to submit a financial aid appeal to be considered eligible.

Students can visit the financial aid office, located in building A-270, for more information or visit its website to fill out an interest form and read the student handbook.
