City College theater program features “Stupid F##king Bird”
San Diego City College’s theater program will begin showings for its second theatrical production weekend.
Titled “Stupid F##king Bird,” the play is a humorous adaptation of Anton Checkov’s “The Seagull,” focusing on friends and embedding a play within a play.
Showings start Oct. 25-27 and continue into next week, Oct. 31-Nov. 2. A review of the show will be shared on sdcitytimes.com on Friday, Oct. 25. Tickets can be purchased here.

Día de Los Muertos takes over the cafeteria
The spirit of the dead will be celebrated at the City College cafeteria Oct. 30 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Students will be able to enjoy a performance by Opera de Tijuana, painting sugar skulls and food and drinks.
The event is open to all to participate.
Final celebrations at the library
The festivities don’t stop there. On Oct. 31 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., the City College Library will be home to further Día de Los Muertos activities.
The event will include Aztec dancing, crafts and face painting.

Watch Knights volleyball, men’s soccer compete Friday, Oct. 25 at home
City College’s men’s soccer (6-5-5) will play Imperial Valley College at home Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. City is led by freshman forward Jamesley Exantus (10 goals, 6 assists), sophomore midfielder Elijah White (6 goals, 2 assists) and freshman goalie Diego Garcia (83 saves).
City College volleyball (4-10) will be battling Palomar College at Harry West Gym Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. City is anchored by sophomores Allison Wygal (105 kills, 47 sets), Aamori Daniels (92 kills, 45 sets) and sophomore Cordelia Gipson (172 assists). The Knights are coming off back-to-back wins and a 3-0 win over Cuyamaca College, which also served as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.
