Here are some of the best things to do next week at San Diego City College, from Friday, Nov. 15 to Friday, Nov. 22.

City Barbershop Talks, Nov. 18 at 12:30 p.m to 1:30 p.m

Fresh Cutz, City College’s barbershop located in the T-Building, is hosting a men’s mental health seminar.

The event titled City Barbershop Talks will include snacks, drinks, haircuts and promises “conscious conversations around men’s mental health.”

Basic Needs Resource Fair, Nov. 19

Basic Needs Center will be hosting a resource fair on Nov. 19 where it will give out frozen turkeys for the first 40 people who fill out a posted survey.

This fair will take place at the A building on the patio from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lunch will be provided for the first 175 students who take part in the survey. The survey will ask about your tax conditions.

CalFresh Application Event, Nov. 21

The Basic Needs Center will host a CalFresh Application Event on Thursday, Nov. 21. The first 10 students who fill out a survey will receive an Amazon gift card. The first 25 students will also receive lunch.

Attendees must RSVP to attend.

City College men’s basketball team home opener

The San Diego City College men’s basketball team will play their first home game of the season, after going 1-1 in the Tournament of Champions in Saratoga, CA. City got its revenge on Yuba College who ended the Knight’s season in the Elite 8 last year with an 89-86 overtime victory. The Knights were led by sophomore Kenny Gonzalez, who scored 15 and 16 points in the first two games, respectively.
