The fall semester at San Diego City College is off and running. With so many things to do, City Times Media has curated some of the best things to check out on campus Sept. 12-19.

Women’s home soccer and volleyball matchups, Friday, Sept. 12
The women’s soccer team (1-1) has a match against San Diego Miramar College on Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. at Knights Soccer Field, located at 1480 Park Blvd.
The volleyball team (2-1) will compete against Mt. San Jacinto at City 5 p.m. on Sept. 12 and another game next week. Both matches will be home games at Harry West Gym.
The Knights will host another home matchup against Cuyamaca on Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. Students who haven’t seen the volleyball team compete can head to the Harry West Gym and watch head coach Audra Dent’s 2025 squad matchup against the winless Coyotes.

Home is Here: Celebrating Immigrant Voices, Monday, Sept 15
The Undocumented Student Resource Center, the World Cultures Program and the library present a talk centered on empowerment and advocacy in immigration policy as part of a series on Monday, Sept. 15 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Chirla Mexico director Esmeralda Flores will be the keynote speaker and kicks off Latinx Heritage Month. Find it on the second floor of the library.

Noche De Familia, Tuesday, Sept. 16
San Diego City College invites students and their families to Noche De Familia on Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 4:45-7 p.m. in the Science Quad.
Free sweatshirts will be given to the first 75 students who register and attend the event. Attendees will be treated to musical guests and mariachis. A resource fair with food distribution and activities will provide resources for the entire family.

Bill of Rights Scavenger Hunt, Wednesday, Sept 17
Students can win a $50 gift card by competing with a team in the Bill of Rights Scavenger Hunt.
After checking in at Student Affairs in M-200, teams of 2-3 students will collect Constitutional Amendments at resources they will need throughout the semester. The students on the fastest teams take home prizes.
The hunt runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Suicide Prevention Training, Wednesday, Sept. 17
City College’s Mental Health Counseling Center, Active Minds Chapter and San Diego Youth Services (SDYS) will host a suicide prevention training for students on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at D-121 A&B. A second bilingual training will be hosted from 1-2. Students are invited to bring their lunches and will be entered to win a self-care package.
