Suicide prevention training, Nov. 12
Suicide prevention training will be hosted by City College’s Mental Health Counseling Center, Active Minds Chapter and San Diego Youth Services in room D-12 on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m.
The training will be conducted by guest Amy Chavez, Manager of SDYS Here Now and Anti-Bias Programs.
Participating students and faculty will receive a certificate of attendance and be entered into a drawing for a self-care giveaway.
ASG meeting, Nov. 12
Join the weekly Associated Student Government from 1-2:30 p.m. in M-201.
ASG meetings are held every Wednesday and provide students with an opportunity to participate and learn about the ongoing activities within City College.

Sock drive, Nov. 7- 20
Welcome Home City will be accepting new socks to support our unhoused students during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
Donations will be accepted at the Basic Needs Center in T-341 until Nov. 20.
Chris Smalls liberation and labor organizing presentation, Nov. 10
Formally imprisoned activist and labor organizer Chris Smalls will be a keynote speaker for the liberation and labor organizing event on Monday at the Saville Theatre.
Smalls will share his experience of being captured by Israeli Occupation Forces and held for five days while trying to deliver lifesaving goods to people in Gaza.
The event will also include panelists from the CalSTRS Divest Campaign and local labor and community organizers.
The events will be at the Saville Theatre from 9:40-11:10 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and will be open to the public. Parking is free at the lot adjacent to the theatre.

The Knights return home this week
Men’s soccer (9-6-5) will play against San Diego Miramar at 3 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Knights Soccer Field on 1480 Park Blvd.
Women’s soccer (6-8-2) will play against Palomar College at 3 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the Knights Soccer Field.
Women’s volleyball (2-16) will match up against El Camino at 6 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Harry West Gym.
Women’s basketball will play its first home game of the season against San Diego Mesa at 6 p.m. at Harry West Gym.
