As cold and flu season ramps up, San Diego City College’s Student Health Clinic is dealing with staff shortages.
Many appointments are being rescheduled, and walk-ins are not being accepted, according to an email sent by Rachel Kelley, Student Health Clinic Coordinator.
“We recognize the impact this may have,” Kelley said. “We are working diligently to minimize disruptions.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expecting this year’s flu season to quickly worsen, according to a report from Nov. 29.

Teletherapy (mental services remotely over the phone) is available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In case of emergencies, call or text 988.

While the shortages are ongoing and the clinic is closed during district holidays and breaks, students can still access health care through the Timely Care app.
Timely Care allows students to make an appointment with a health care provider directly. Register here using your student email address.
