SPOTLIGHT: City College’s Dahlia Blake leads on the court

Knights women’s basketball team returns home tonight against MiraCosta

Sophomore Dahlia Blake graduated from Grossmont High School in El Cajon before becoming part of the basketball program at San Diego City College in 2024. 

Coming back from a knee injury last season, Blake has continued to push through, having started in 8-of-9 conference games and 23-of-25 games overall.

“I let it be known that I would bet all my cards on these girls,” Blake said after a 74-48 win over El Camino on Nov. 11, 2025. “I let them know every day at practice and at games.”

This season Blake has scored a total of 398 points, with 134 of those scored in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play. She has also pulled down 285 total rebounds. 

Blake made her 500th career point at City College on Nov. 24, 2025, , according to the City women’s basketball Instagram account.

The Knights (14-11, 6-3 PCAC) will face off against MiraCosta (25-0, 9-0 PCAC) where tipoff is set for 5 p.m. at Harry West Gym
