Holiday travel for 2025 is expected to be busier than in previous years.

AAA expects about 82 million travelers for the holidays, according to a recent press release.

“Thanksgiving travel numbers are always impressive because this holiday has become synonymous with heading out of town to spend time with loved ones,” said Stacey Barber, Vice President of AAA Travel, in the release. “People are willing to brave the crowds and make last-minute adjustments to their plans to make lifelong memories, whether it’s visiting extended family or meeting up with friends.”

The TSA website shows a steady increase in passengers boarding flights as the days inch closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Higher travel volumes mean traffic and longer wait times to board flights.

Plan to leave early and expect delays while traveling to your destination.
