TwitchCon, the streaming, gaming, and community event, will hold its 10th anniversary from Oct. 17-19 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Here are the important things San Diego City College students should know before heading to the event.
If you are unable to attend the event, there will be streams throughout the event that you can view online.
Highlighted Events
Interesting events to attend at TwitchCon are:

- Drag showcase hosted by Trixie Mattel: Stunning fashion will be showcased at the drag show hosted by Trixie Mattel and Pearl Teese.
- Creator camp: Sessions on community growth, content creation and brand collaborations.
- Community meetups: Meet up with friends, fans and like-minded community members to meet face to face and chat.
- Expo floor: Experience the latest games and technology, talk with developers and watch live streams.
- GDQx: Watch video games get pushed to their limits as speedrunners raise money for charity.
- Glitch Theater: Experience wild shows and Twitch chaos at the Glitch Theater.
- Interactive Workshops: A class led by streamers with hands-on learning to inspire the next generation.
- Loot cave: All the merchandise for sale at TwitchCon will be located here.
- Meet and greets: Get the opportunity to chat, take pictures and receive autographs from your favorite streamers.
- Artist alley: Fan art and commissions available for purchase.
- Musical performances: A range of music, including hip-hop, house and string quartets.
- Tabletop: Board games, cards and friends enjoy their favorite tabletop games.
- Twitch rivals arena: Popular streamers compete against each other in a two-day event.

Tickets
Tickets can be purchased on the TwitchCon website. The cost for the three-day pass is $249. Friday and Saturday single-day tickets are $169, and Sunday tickets are $159. There are add-ons available to ticketholders that grant access to the TwitchCon block party on Saturday for $125.
Tickets are purchased exclusively online. Con-goers will receive a wristband upon arrival at the convention center. Make sure you bring a government-issued ID when you check in.
Transportation
Public transportation is recommended, as parking can be difficult downtown in San Diego. Cost for parking downtown around the convention center can vary and can be purchased in advance.
You can find all MTS trolley and bus routes by using the MTS website to plan your route to the convention center. Download and pay via the PRONTO app.
You can also use the trip planner feature to get from point A to point B.
Parking
Parking at the convention center will fill up fast. Apps like ParkMobile and SpotHero may offer solutions to finding parking closer at varying rates.
Food
Plan to eat before the event or bring money to purchase food at vendors.
For those who are attending the block party on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m., over 20 restaurants are participating with Twitch. The block party is located in the Gaslamp Quarter and has a strict no re-entry policy.
Be prepared to walk around a lot, wear comfortable clothing and stay hydrated.
