City Times Media, based online at sdcitytimes.com, is the home of award-winning student-produced digital news, TV news, magazine, radio/podcast and indie film.

All of these partners collaborate on one platform at San Diego City College.

The website, sdcitytimes.com, averages just under 15,000 views per month, based on Google Analytics 2025 data.

Our mission: Cover San Diego City College and its community better than anyone else.

All content viewed on sdcitytimes.com and its related sites is produced as learning experiences in news production lab courses in the San Diego City College Film, Journalism and Media Production program, observing ethical standards of the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics.

Publishing schedule: Content on sdcitytimes.com is published online each weekday, or as news breaks, for the duration of each academic term (typically late August to mid-December for the fall term and late January to late May for the spring). In addition to a digital presence, the staff produces multiple print products — City Times newspaper, typically printed monthly during the academic year, and CityScene magazine, published once during each semester. Note: CityScene replaced Legend in spring 2021.

All content produced on sdcitytimes.com is created by students in the City Times Media partner courses except when noted. Student contributors are welcome to forward submissions as part of a City College Honors Program contract.
