The California State University today changed the deadline for transfers from its original date of Dec. 4.

The CSU has 23 different campuses throughout California to choose from, including San Diego State and Cal State San Marcos. It will extend its fall 2021 priority application deadline to Dec. 15.

The decision was made “to better serve high school and community college facing university admissions challenges caused by COVID-19,” wrote CSU on its website.

City College’s Joseph D’Ambro, a senior student services assistant in the Transfer and Career Center, said recently that there have been more resources for students who needed them during this pandemic.

“The CSUs, a lot of local universities that we have relationships with (are) stepping up and providing additional resources,” he said. “And there are admissions representatives from the actual universities that are helping.

High school and college students have 11 days to finish and turn in their application.

Students can apply at the university’s application portal, Cal State Apply.
