San Diego City College students will showcase their best work at the Student Project and Research Symposium held virtually Thursday.

Now in its 17th year, the Student Project and Research Symposium is a campus event that highlights great work from a variety of disciplines.

The on-campus event will be hosted on Zoom due to the ongoing pandemic.

Communication Studies professor Erin Engstrom, who coordinates presentations for Communication Studies, Digital Journalism and Radio, Television and Film, said the event will be a smaller scale one than past in-person symposiums.

“(It) highlights the awesome things we do over here in Radio, TV, Film, DJRN, and Comm Studies,” Engstrom wrote to student participants in an email.

There will be virtual poster board presentations from 9-11 a.m. That will be followed by the Communications Showcase, which will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Presentations by City Times, CTTV/Newscene and CT Sound will happen during the Communications Showcase.

Spoken word presentations will round out the show from 12:30-1 p.m.

The event can be viewed live on the San Diego City College YouTube channel starting at 9 a.m.
