For the first time since March 2020, Schwartz Plaza at San Diego City College was teeming with humanity as students, staff and faculty gathered for the inaugural Fall Fest and Study Jam 2021 on Dec. 8.

Over 700 students registered after City Outreach announced that attendees would receive $500 of student aid. Promotion for the event said only the first 150 students to register and attend would receive the $500 in promised aid, but officials changed course and announced day-of that all registered students who attended would receive the funds.

Nearly every student organization, and some academic programs, were present at the event – the Arabic language program, Student Health Center, English Center, Student Affairs, EOPS, Next Up, Dreamer Resource Center, City Bookstore, Financial Aid, San Diego Promise Program, DSPS, CalWorks and City Women Rock – with tents and giveaways designed to highlight the numerous resources and learning opportunities available to students at City.
