San Diego City College students are looking to break a leg as theatre returns with “The Wolves” opening at the Saville Theater on Friday, Oct. 14.

According to the City College website, “The Wolves” is about a high school women’s soccer team trying to find their place in the world.

In preparation for the soccer portions of the play, the actors have been training with former City College women’s soccer coach and professor of health and exercise science Andi Milburn.

“Andi’s been whipping them into shape,” Dramatic Arts Professor and Director Katie Rodda said. “I think it’s the first collaboration between visual performing arts and health and exercise science, which I’m really excited about.”

Milburn, who isn’t used to working with novice players, was excited about the opportunity as well.

“It sounded like a really cool thing to be able to kind of do something different, you know, and work with people that most of them have never played soccer before,” Milburn said.

“The Wolves” will run through Oct. 22 at the Saville Theater.
