For City College students, summer came to an end when the fall semester began last week.
Professors opened their doors and staff were on campus to welcome both returning students as well as new ones on Aug. 19.
Construction remains an ongoing event on campus, but students can view upgrades that have been made to the campus. There are ones that are finished —- like the Math and Social Sciences Building which opened in the spring —- as well as ones that are new: a science building which has been completed and will be furnished and opened next semester.
Save for a blood drive, activities remained quiet for the time being, as students take time to get used to their classes and new schedules. The remainder of the month though has some key dates to remember:
The all important deadline add-drop deadline for classes is on Aug. 30.
The theatre department announced that this semester’s stage production will be “Guys and Dolls.” Led by Professor June Richards, auditions will begin on Aug. 31 at noon in the Saville Theatre. College credit is available and everyone is welcome to attend. For more information email [email protected].
Chancellor Constance M. Caroll stated in a press release that enrollment has grown. This semester, classes are up two percent as of the first week of classes.
