Scholarships available for transfer students

By Daniel Wright Sr.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is offering approximately 85 eligible undergraduate transfer students scholarships for up to $40,000 per year.

The Cooke Foundation scholarship was established for community college students who have a financial need to help them transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree at a top, four-year college or university.

Each award is intended to cover most of a student’s educational expenses including tuition, living expenses, books, and fees required to achieve a bachelor’s degree.

To register go to jkcf.org. The deadline for applications is Oct. 25 at noon.

Students are urged to check with a college counselor to see if they qualify or to visit jkcf.org

The Cooke Foundation also offers many other scholarships and grants. More information is on their website.
