Knights men’s volleyball team beats El Camino, stays undefeated

City College’s men’s volleyball team took the win Wednesday night on the road defeating the 2015 runner-up state champions, the El Camino College Warriors 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-17, and 25-17). The Knights remain undefeated with a record of 4-0 in the 2016 season.

El Camino College (1-3) came from behind after being down by six points upsetting the Knights in the first set. The Knights tightened up their offense and defense but fell short to the Warriors with a set score of 20-25.

During the next three sets the Knights maintained their aggressive play to defeat the Warriors one set after the other.

Sophomore Zachary Kramer and freshman Anthony Harrington had a total of eight assisted blocks. Harrington was on the hunt for the Warriors with nine kills during the sets played at El Camino College in Torrance.

Assisting the Knights with the win was sophomore Lucas Timm. He played aggressively with 11 digs, seven kills, and three aces, scoring 11 points for his team.

Sophomore Jordan Walley took advantage of the Warriors with 12 kills, eight digs and one assisted block, scoring a total of 13.5 points for City College.

The Knights are undefeated, with a record of 4-0, including a win against last year’s state champions, Santa Monica Corsairs.
