City College Knights begin playoff road in Santa Monica

The Knights will have the opportunity tonight to avenge a Nov. 17 loss to the Corsairs.

The San Diego City College men’s basketball team will face Santa Monica College in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association regional playoff tonight. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

In the previous meeting between the two, the Corsairs defeated the Knights, 80-62, on Nov. 17 at Glendora.

The Corsairs averaged 40.6 rebounds with 14.4 assists per game for the season. The Knights averaged 36.6 rebounds per game with 12.9 assists per game.

This will be the Knights’ sixth consecutive appearance in the CCCAA playoffs. 

The winner of Wednesday night’s game will face No. 2 seed East Los Angeles Community College (24-4) on Saturday.
