The San Diego City College men’s basketball team defeated Los Angeles Southwest, 92-73, in the opening round of the Southern California Regional playoffs at Harry West Gym on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

The starters of the Knights (24-5) all scored in double digits, while the Cougars (17-11) ad only one starter with 10 or more. 

No. 11 City was led by guard Dominic Hovasse and center Legend Stamps, both scoring 16 points. LA Southwest was led by Lamar Harris, Jr. with 32 points.

The Knights now meet No. 6 Fullerton College (22-5) in the second round of the California Regionals. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 29.
