Despite more than a year with COVID-19 and San Diego City College being closed, student-athletes excelled in their classrooms.

Seventy-five student-athletes completed at least 9.0 units with a 3.0 GPA or higher in the fall 2020 semester.

Out of those, 17 scored a 4.0 GPA.

Among those students were also some that graduated this spring as a part of the Class of 2021.

They include:

• Shantel Benitez, women’s soccer
Kiyara Long and Faida Malenga, women’s tennis
• Mostafa Mohammadi, men’s soccer
• Sun Ngai, badminton
• Jade Sherry, women’s cross country

“Congratulations to our student-athlete graduates,” wrote the City Knights Instagram post.
