Former ASG President joins protests for police reform

National protests have taken place over the past week, former ASG president Oscar Rendon explained the protestors want to “bring light” onto reports that black people face severe sentences and are even killed for minor offenses, or sometimes alleged minor offenses, as was the case of George Floyd.

Multiple San Diego City College student organizations and community members gathered in front of the AH building on Sept. 27, chanting “blame the system, not the victim.” They passed a megaphone, shared personal stories, supported women’s rights and stood up to what they saw as an oppressive system.
