Application deadline for City College EOPS extended to Sept. 15

CARE, NextUp program applications also accepted, open year-round

To be eligible, students must be a California resident, taking 12 or more units with at least 6 at City College. Other requirements include qualifying for Board of Governors Fee Waivers, having completed less than 70 units, and being classified as educationally disadvantaged.

Selam Gebrekristos, the coordinator/counselor for the NextUp program at San Diego City College, threw a big birthday bash for former foster youth enrolled at the school. The Dec. 8 event was “the birthday (they) never had,” she said.
