Get ready to do the “Time Warp,” the Drama Department’s rendition of “The Rocky Horror Show” opens on April 20 in the Saville Theatre.

The cult classic characters of the musical/science fiction feature “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” take the stage in a musical written by Richard O’Brien and directed by drama department chair Katie Rhodda.

The musical centers around the seemingly innocent fiancés Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, who take shelter from a thunderstorm in an eerie castle and get mixed in with an “interesting” crowd (to say the least). The original movie starred the respected character actor Tim Curry as Doctor Frankenfurter, the “sweet transvestite from Transylvania.”

The City College rendition stars Trevor Peringer as the eccentric scientist Frankenfurter. David McKenna and Alyssa Salacup shine as the naïve Brad and Janet. Frankenfurter’s followers Magenta, Riff Raff and Columbia are played by Lauren Lantz, Chris Lingle, and Bekah Church, respectively.

“The Rocky Horror Show” runs on Friday and Saturday April 20-21 and 27-28 at 8 p.m. and on Sunday April 22 and 29 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students.
