Halloween week events continue in San Diego
Halloween falls on Hump Day, but the city won’t be dead.

Here is a list of upcoming Halloween and Dia de los Muertos events on and around the City College campus.
Tuesday, Oct. 30 (Devil’s Night)
Taco Tuesday with LOLA 55
IDEA1 HUB 899 Park Blvd., 6-9 p.m.
Kick off party for East Village’s IDEA1 HUB. DJ Akrite will be spinning and there will be Mexican loteria games. Costumes not required, but a contest will be held for prizes.
Melanjolly 4: a Tim Burton Fan Art Show
Basic Bar/Pizza 410 10th Ave., 7 p.m. to midnight
Art show features dozens of artists and DJ Afrosurf Shack. Hosted by Thumbprint Gallery.
All Hallow’s Eve Magickal Masquerade Ball
Queen Bee’s Art & Cultural Center 3925 Ohio St., 7-11 p.m.
Samhain ritual begins at 7 p.m. All-ages show and dance party after 8 p.m.
The Haunted Trail of Balboa Park
Balboa Drive and Juniper Street, 7-11 p.m.
Follow terrifying trails through haunted woods. Also open on Halloween.
The Haunted Hotel
424 Market St., 7-11 p.m.
A terrifying tour full of inhospitable hospitality. Also open on Halloween.
Rocky Horror Dance Party
Quartyard 1301 Market St., 6-9 p.m.
Learn to dance The Time Warp from instructors and watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Family-friendly event, costumes are encouraged. 70s and 80s music by DJ Vaughn Avakian. Proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Wednesday, Oct. 31 (Halloween)
FLUXX Halloween Party with Nas
500 Fourth Avenue, 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The illmatic MC is set to take stage on Halloween, likely dressed as himself.
Michael vs. Prince Halloween Tribute Party
The Casbah 2501 Kettner Blvd., 8:30 p.m.
The lineup includes DJ Artistic, Cros One, Dasheye & Unite and Tribe of Kings. Costume contest with cash prizes.
Wicked
San Diego Civic Theatre 1100 3rd Ave., 7 p.m
A twisted look at Oz from the witch’s perspective that became a Broadway hit. Opening night, but runs through Nov. 25.
Thursday, Nov. 1 (Dia de los Muertos)
Dia de los Muertos Celebration at City College
Saville Theatre 14th and C Streets, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
See the alter, get face painted, play loteria for prizes, listen to poetry, watch a dance performance set to Thriller, and more.
Old Town San Diego’s Dia de los Muertos
Old Town, all weekend
Days of events hosted at multiple locations. Features over 50 traditional and contemporary altars throughout Old Town and a public alter in El Campo Santo cemetery. Traditional candlelight procession starts at San Diego Avenue and Twiggs Street, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. Many restaurants will be providing special menus and featuring live music, along with activities for the entire family, including traditional face painting, mask making and music.
