City College graphic design awarded as best in the world

City moves to first in WBDS Design Education Ranking, amassing 17 awards

Graphic design projects produced by students in the San Diego City College graphic design program gained City College the first place spot in the Best Design Education Ranking of 2022-23 by the World Brand Design Society.

WBDS is a nonprofit group that aims to recognize outstanding graphic design programs in colleges worldwide and offers scholarship opportunities. 

City College received 17 awards, eight more than the runner-up, the HSE Art & Design School in Russia.

The haul included second and third-place awards, as well as multiple gold, silver, bronze, and individual awards, according to WBDS. 

City College’s Global Design Education Ranking shot up from 10th to 2nd after this year’s awards.
