The Knights come out to play

San Diego City College’s Athletics Program wants you to get involved with the various sports offered right here on campus.

On April 17, several members from the City Knights softball, baseball and men’s volleyball team showed up at Gorton Quad, as a part of a campus-wide “sports spirit week.” While showing off their best spikes and pitching arms, student-athletes were simultaneously able to promote their ongoing athletics program.

Though our very best Knights were front and center in the middle of the quad, doing what they do best, students from around the campus were encouraged to come and participate in mini games and challenges set up by the teams, which demonstrated the different skills and techniques used in different sports.

City Knights softball coach LeeAnn Taylor explained, “We want student’s to get involved.”

With the athletics program offering opportunities for over 200 student-athletes, the availability of 13 intercollegiate sports, the new Harry West Gymnasium and a 30 percent succession rate for student-athletes transferring to a four-year university, now is the time to get involved.
