New parent center for students is one of many goals and initiatives announced at convocation. The center will offer child support for up to 12 students at a time and will remain open late into the evening as an expansion on the Basic Needs Center.

On the first day of the 2023-24 school year, the San Diego City College campus was a wet ghost town. That was the intention of the San Diego Community College District, which announced its four campuses would be closed on Monday, Aug. 21. But roaming City’s campus early on Monday, the occasional student could be found wandering the walkways.
