October not only means colder temperatures on campus at San Diego City College but also the start of the transfer application period for students.  All California State University and University of California campuses are accepting transfer applications from Oct 1. through Nov 30. 

In 2016 Huerta didn’t know what a community college was, and in 2021, she will transfer to one of the top four-year universities in the country to study sociology.

In September 2020, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship recipient Tatiana Butte was trying to get by during the pandemic, taking as many classes as possible and using every free moment to focus on scholarship applications, submitting more than 30. Nine months later, her life has completely changed.
