In honor of Latinx and Chicanx Heritage Month, San Diego City College will celebrate the unique contributions of the Hispanic community that has made our nation greater through diversity.

The next event, Redefining Leadership: Unleashing Your Inner Chingona, will take place virtually on Sept. 21 from 3-4 p.m. Find it here on Zoom.

Students can participate in the discussion of exploring Chingona in a different, positive connotation as well as how its reflected in the community.

City College counselors Cristina Carrillo and Nadia Lopez Moreno will present a merged identity of being unapologetically Latinx/Chicanx while owning that identity and culture in a positive and bold way.

The hashtag #HispanicHeritageMonth has started trending on Twitter. It’s honoring many Latinx and Chicanx for their contributions to the world.

City College has events all through the rest of the month of September starting Sept. 15 and into October to celebrate Latinx and Chicanx Heritage. The dates of the events are available here.

This event is being sponsored by the Counseling and Personal Growth Department.
