The first add/drop deadline has passed at San Diego City College, but there are still plenty of late-start classes offered for students.

While most of the classes available are 8-week courses beginning in mid-October, some are as short as 4 weeks and as long as 13.

Many of the classes on the schedule fulfill general education requirements.

English 101 Reading and Composition and English 205 Critical Thinking and Intermediate Composition are both eight-week courses starting on Oct. 12.

If you are looking for an alternative history course, U.S. History from a Chicano Perspective is also available starting Oct. 12.

Math courses like Pre-Algebra, Pre-Algebra & Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, and Calculus are also available for enrollment.

Nursing majors have the option to take Medical and Surgical Nursing as a 6-week course starting Sept. 14 or an 8-week course starting Oct. 12.

Those looking for an exercise class for a physical education requirement or majoring in dance can enroll in Global Dance Traditions at City College on Mondays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or advanced kickboxing classes with Alan Rivera.

Important dates to note are the deadline to petition for pass/no pass is Sept. 18 and the withdrawal deadline is Oct. 23.
