Looking for something to do this week? Here are some of the exciting events coming up at San Diego City College from Sept. 5-12.

New speaker series addresses local housing shortage Sept. 8

Welcome Home City hosts its first speaker series of the semester with a housing-focused workshop.

The workshop will be led by City College’s People Assisting The Homeleses housing navigator Marco Circosta. PATH provides supportive services to those experiencing homelessness in California, according to its website.

The workshop will take place at 11 a.m. in the Basic Needs Center, T-341

Club rush coming Sept. 9

City College’s first club rush of the fall will take place on Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be carnival-themed, with games, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones free of charge. All students are invited to have fun and get involved in club life at the AH/BT quad

SPORTS: Knights women to compete in soccer, volleyball

The City College women’s soccer team (1-0) will face off against San Diego Miramar on Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Knights Soccer Field located at 1480 Park Blvd.

The volleyball team (1-2) will also make its way back home to play against Mt. San Jacinto on Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. in Harry West Gym.

ONGOING: Library tours continue

Library tours will be continuing until Sept. 11. You can visit the Library website here or read about it in last week’s Knight & Day.

ONLINE: New games drop, ruining the studying vibe

Hollow Knight’s anticipated sequel, Silksong, was released online today and has already generated buzz.

Online platforms such as Steam, PlayStation and Xbox are experiencing crashes and error messages due to the amount of traffic, according to IGN.

Riot Games’ upcoming game 2XKO is holding its third and final closed beta on Sept. 9. Register online to join the playtest by using this link.

Marvel Rivals Season 4 is set to release Sept. 12. With around 220,000 daily players, the Marvel hero shooter is losing steam at the moment, according to VICE.

New tank character Angela will be released, as well as a myriad of balance changes. Learn more from the developers themselves here.

New anime hits theaters

Demon Slayer’s next movie release is Infinity Castle, set to be in theaters Sept. 11. This film is one of a three-part series of films.
