The San Diego Community College District Board of Trustees selected Acting Chancellor Greg Smith to be the district’s new chancellor at the board’s Dec. 14 meeting.

Smith continues in the duties he held since May of this year when Carlos Cortez stepped down.

The hiring comes on the heels of a months-long chancellor search.
