San Diego City college partnered up with the San Diego Food Bank for Hunger Action Day.

Social distancing guidelines, including mask use requirements and a safe walk-up option, were in place for all volunteers and attendees of the event.

Along with the donated food, City also provided bags of toiletries containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, deodorant, soap and condoms.

For this week’s City cooking challenge, multimedia journalist Susana Serrano made a chicken and rice burrito for lunch.

The tortillas, chicken and rice were some of the items she used from the food drive. Serrano also used items from her pantry and previous food drives.
