City Times staff curate, share the best of what’s coming up on campus

Looking for something to do this week? Here are some of the exciting events coming up at San Diego City College from April 18 to 25.

Transfer Fair, April 21

The Transfer center is hosting a transfer fair at Schwartz Square from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Students interested in transferring to a 4-year university will have the opportunity to speak to representatives from schools such as the University of California, University of San Diego and San Diego State University.

The event is open to all, but students who preregister via electronic form will receive a guide to help plan for the event.

Make Your Own T-shirt, April 21

Associated Student Government will be hosting a T-shirt pressing event in collaboration with Yo Soy STEM in S-211M from 2 – 3 p.m.

Students will be able to provide their designs or use provided designs and T-shirts to make their own T-shirt.

The event is open to all and free to enter, but supplies are limited.

 

Film Screening: San Diego’s Gay Bar History, April 24

The Intercultural Center is hosting a film screening in MS-162.

The documentary covers the history of gay bars in San Diego from the end of World War II to the present day.

Students interested in participating are encouraged to RSVP via electronic form.

ASG Dance Party, April 24th 

ASG is hosting a school dance on the A building patio from 4 – 7 p.m.

The first dance in City College’s history will be themed Wild West vs. Disco. Food and prizes will be provided for those who attend.

The event is open to all.

 

City College baseball takes on Grossmont, April 22

The San Diego City College baseball team (8-23, 3-17 PCAC) will take on PCAC opponent Grossmont College (25-9, 15-5 PCAC) at 2 p.m. at Morley Field.

Sophomore outfielder Orlando Arellano leads the Knights with a .333 batting average, totalling 37 hits in 30 games played.
