City Times staff curates, shares the best of what’s coming on campus

Looking for something to do this week? Here are some of the exciting events coming up at San Diego City College from March 5-12.

ICE Out! In Action, March 6

Students for Justice in Palestine, M.E.C.H.A and the Chicano Studies department will be coming together on March 6 for an emergency ICE training in MS-462 from noon-2 p.m.

There will be special guests from the Union Del Barrio and City Heights Defense Committee teaching the community how to keep each other safe if ICE were to appear on campus.

ASG Open House Club Rush and Spring Fest, March 10

The Associated Student Government will host an event for students to learn more about campus clubs and organizations on campus. 

This event will take place from noon to 2 p.m. in Gorton Quad and M200.

AANHPI Open Mic Night, March 11

The AANHPI connection center will be hosting an Open Mic Night from 2-3 p.m. in BT-105

This event marks the beginning of a month-long series of activities hosted by  the AANHPI connection center.

City Sports of the Week

The men’s basketball team (24-5, 16-0) has entered the Sweet 16 and are set to play against Ventura College (25-4, 11-1) on March 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the VC Events Center.

The baseball team (9-7,1-2) will face off against Mesa College (6-12, 1-2) on Thursday, March 5, at 1 p.m. at Morley Field Sports Complex

Following, the softball team (3-13, 0-3) will play Palomar College (13-1, 4-0) at 3 p.m. at Betty Hock Field

The women’s  tennis team (7-5,4-0) will play against Orange Coast College (11-0, 2-0) on Friday, March 6, at the Odus Morgan Tennis Center

The men’s  tennis team (5-2, 3-0) will face the College of the Desert (0-6, 0-2) on Tuesday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at the Odus Morgan Tennis Center
